What qualifies you to work at mononews?
I know something about almost everything, or I know someone who knows. In short, I am resourceful, have a lot of experience, am a positive person with strong network of contacts and I enjoy a challenge.
What made you decide to take the job?
I’ve been focused primarily on Marketing the last few years and liked the idea of getting back into PR and Communications. Also this job gives me the chance to catch up on the latest in Social Media and the technology supporting it.
What was the hardest lesson you have learned (in business/in life)?
There are two lessons: 1. To step back and not take things personally. 2. When to keep my mouth shut. P.S. I’m actually still in the process of learning them.
How do you define success?
Being productive and contributing to progress and achievements. Being happy to come to work in the morning and having colleagues who are happy that I come into work in the morning. Supporting myself and having lots of shoes.
What is your favourite saying?
“I’m doing my best!” (In response to “How are you doing?”)
What is the most fun you have had on the job?
Working on developing the Brand identity, imagining mononews as a personality, and watching it come alive.
What characteristic of mononews do you feel most closely matches one of your own characteristics?
Unconventionality. Having a unique perspective or quality that may accomplish a common task differently, but just as effectively, with a twist.
Would you consider yourself more of a “carrot” or a “stick” type personality?
More of a carrot type, but I have to admit, sometimes the stick works!
What’s the one thing, at the office, guaranteed to put a smile on your face?
Anyone offering food!
What’s the most unusual thing you have ever done for your job?
This job has been pretty tame, so far, but I once dressed up as a man at a previous position.
